The first of its kind\u00a0Cottage and Small Industry Market\u00a0Outlet located in Changzamtog, Thimphu was inaugurated by Hon\u2019ble\u00a0Tengye Lyonpo on 18 December 2020.<\/p>\n

The CSI market\u00a0will act as a\u00a0platform for\u00a0entrepreneurs\u00a0to market their products,\u00a0to\u00a0encourage inter-business networks, to\u00a0enhance backward and forward linkages\u00a0and\u00a0to\u00a0act\u00a0as a platform to exchange business related information.\u00a0The outlet\u00a0is\u00a0exclusively dedicated for sale of domestic CSI products.<\/p>\n

During the\u00a0same event,\u00a0the annual\u00a0Bhutan Enterprise Award (BEA)\u00a0was held. The winners of\u00a0BEA\u00a02020\u00a0were\u00a0awarded with the Certificate and cash prize of Nu. 0.2 million each\u00a0in\u00a0the following categories\u00a0by Hon\u2019ble Tengye Lyonpo:<\/p>\n

The\u00a0BEA\u00a0was instituted in the year 2013\u00a0with the\u00a0objective to enhance\u00a0and\u00a0appreciate\u00a0the role of\u00a0entrepreneurs to the\u00a0society\u00a0and to inculcate\u00a0culture of\u00a0entrepreneurship so\u00a0that people\u00a0are\u00a0encouraged\u00a0to\u00a0look beyond the common trend of getting employed.\u00a0The winners for the BEA were selected through rigorous three-stage selection processes using various parameters each for short-listing, field assessment and the final selection.<\/p>\n

Subsequently,\u00a0new CSI products\u00a0were\u00a0also\u00a0launched\u00a0during the same event.\u00a0The\u00a0purpose\u00a0of the\u00a0product\u00a0launch\u00a0is\u00a0to provide a platform for\u00a0the Startups and CSIs\u00a0entrepreneurs\u00a0to\u00a0introduce\u00a0and showcase\u00a0their products,\u00a0to\u00a0provide better access to market\u00a0and\u00a0to create linkage with the potential dealers and customers.<\/p>\n
