The Department of Intellectual Property (DoIP) conducted a half-day awareness workshop on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) to the officials of \u00a0Druk Green Power Corporation <\/span><\/span>Limited <\/span><\/span>(DGPC<\/span><\/span>L<\/span><\/span>) and its subsidiary companies in\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Thimphu on March 12, 2021, as requested by them. The participants from the subsidiary companies attended the program virtually through their respective offices based in other Dzongkhags. <\/span><\/span>During the workshop, the participants <\/span><\/span>were sensitized on the importance of creation and protection of IP and how it foster<\/span><\/span>ed<\/span><\/span>innovation and creativity in the society. The workshop covered the following topics of IPR:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

1. Overview of IPR;<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
2. Trademarks;<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
3. Industrial Design;<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
4. Copyrights and Related Rights; and<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
5. Patents\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
