The Department of Intellectual Property, Ministry of Economic Affairs has\u00a0formulated\u00a0a\u00a0draft\u00a0National Copyright Policy in consultation with the World Intellectual Property Organization. The overall\u00a0purpose\u00a0of the proposed policy is to provide clear direction to systematically steer the development activities of the copyright system so that it contributes toward the growth of the\u00a0creative\u00a0sector in a desirable manner and\u00a0unleashes\u00a0its potential to contribute to a knowledge-based economy. The Policy would mark a significant development underpinning the Creators and the Creative Industry with concerted emphasis on creation, promotion, and protection.<\/p>\n
The Department has already organized a National Stakeholder Consultation with the relevant Government and Private Sector and is now sharing the refined draft policy for public review and feedback. In view of this, we would like to invite further views of the stakeholders and the wider public to gather a broader consensus on the Policy.<\/p>\n
