{"id":12796,"date":"2022-11-25T15:12:33","date_gmt":"2022-11-25T08:42:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.moea.gov.bt\/?p=12796"},"modified":"2022-11-25T15:12:33","modified_gmt":"2022-11-25T08:42:33","slug":"workshop-on-cross-border-paperless-trade-facilitation-and-emerging-technologies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.moenr.gov.bt\/?p=12796","title":{"rendered":"Workshop on Cross-Border Paperless Trade Facilitation and Emerging Technologies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Department of Trade, Ministry of Economic Affairs \u00a0in collaboration with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific(UNESCAP) organized a day workshop on <strong><em>Cross- Border Paperless Trade Facilitation\u00a0 and Emerging Technologies<\/em><\/strong> on 25 November 2022 in Thimphu, Bhutan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The workshop was conducted to raise stakeholders\u2019 awareness on feasible data and mechanism for cross-border electronic exchange of data for trade facilitation, with special emphasis on utilizing emerging technologies such as distributed ledger technology\/block chain, internet of things, artificial intelligence and data analytics.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The workshop was attended by Government officials from relevant agencies such as Department of Revenue Customs, \u00a0Royal Monetary Authority, Department of information Technology &amp; Telecom, Ministry of Economic Affairs \u00a0and private stakeholders such as Bhutan Chamber of Customs and Industries, Bhutan Exporters Association and Clearing \u00a0&amp; Forwarding Agencies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The workshop was a great platform for the national participants to interact virtually with resources speakers and experts from UNESCAP, World Customs Organization, World Economic Forum, UN\/CEFACT and IBM Research Centre India.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The workshop is organized under the project \u201cenhancing capacity for sustainable cross-border trade digitization through application of emerging technologies\u201d, supported by Enhanced Integrated Framework(EIF).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of Trade, Ministry of Economic Affairs \u00a0in collaboration with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific(UNESCAP) organized a day workshop on Cross- Border Paperless Trade Facilitation\u00a0 and Emerging Technologies on 25 November 2022 in Thimphu, Bhutan.
