The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (MoENR) is pleased to announce the\u00a0Positive List, a set of activities eligible for carbon trading under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement in Bhutan. The Positive List was developed through a consultative process with guidance from the Climate Change Coordination Committee (C4) and was endorsed during the Second Meeting of the National Environment Commission (NEC) held on February 6, 2025.<\/p>\n
The development of Article 6 carbon projects will be governed by the\u00a0Bhutan Carbon Market Policy 2025, which will soon be announced. This policy ensures alignment with national priorities, environmental integrity, and Article 6 guidance.<\/p>\n
With Bhutan now fulfilling the Article 6 participation requirements, the Ministry invites mitigation project proposals in line with the Positive List.<\/p>\n
