A training Workshop on ‘Springshed Management, Operation of Meteorological Stations and Data Analysis’ was conducted by the Department of Water (DoW) from June 5-12, 2024 at Kichu Resorts, Paro.
The overall objective was to build the capacity of the partner agencies to understand the technical aspects of the springshed management as one of the ecosystem adaptive approaches to becoming resilient to the changing climate, enhance their knowledge and skills on operation of the Meteorological Station along with data collection and analysis, and about their partnership and cooperation on the implementation of Advancing Climate Resilience of Water Sector in Bhutan (ACREWAS) project landscape.
Over 27 participants with representation from the governmental and non-governmental agencies – Department of Forest and Park Services, Department of Infrastructure Development, Tarayana Foundation, Royal Society for Protection of Nature and Department of Water–, participated in the training workshop. It was a combination of theory, field exercises, and practical sessions.
The above training workshop is part of project component 2 –Nature Based Solutions for Sustainable and Climate Resilient Watershed and Livelihood Enhancement– of the ACREWAS project, funded by GEF-UNDP.
