The Department of Trade formally welcomed the project officials for Gelephu and Nganglam dry port projects with a simple Tendrel ceremony on July 20, 2021. The event was graced by the Hon’ble Secretary and provided direction to the team and reassured the Ministry’s support in the implementation of the project.
The dry port facilities in Gelephu and Nganglam are expected to facilitate cross-border trade through improved cargo handling services and bring economic benefits for the central, eastern and southern dzongkhags. The project is being implemented with the financial support from the Government of India and expected to be completed in two years’ time.
