The ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of Nganglam Dry Port was held on 6th September, 2022. The ceremony was graced by Lyonpo Karma Dorji, Hon’ble Minister for Labour & Human Resources. The heads of agencies under Nganglam Dungkhag along with senior representatives of the Government and Armed Forces attended the ceremony.
Nganglam Dry Port facility, which is located 800 meters away from Integrated Check Point at Pelzomthang, is expected to facilitate cross-border trade through improved cargo handling services and bring economic benefits to the south eastern dzongkhags. The project is implemented with financial support from Government of India and will be complete by December 2024.
