Launch of Power Clearance Service through the Integrated Business Licensing Service System

The Department of Energy, Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Royal Government of Bhutan, is pleased to announce that the Power Clearance service is now integrated with the Integrated Business Licensing Service (IBLS) System.

Power Clearance serves as a pre-requisite and sectoral clearance for acquiring a business license to operate an industry in the country. Additionally, it also serves as a requirement for existing industries wishing to expand and needing additional power to cater to the additional load.

All applications for Power Clearance will henceforth be processed through the IBLS system. This initiative aims to enhance efficiency, streamline processing, and provide ease of access for all applicants. Proponents may apply for Power Clearance as follows:

  • Login:
  • Under the “Online Available Services”, go to “Power Clearance Service” to apply.
  • Eligibility
  • Manufacturing and production industries with the power requirement of 353kVA (300kW) and above.
  • All data center processing and hosting activities.

Manufacturing and production industries with power requirement of less than 353kVA (300kW), and all other service sector activities irrespective of power capacity requirements can avail power clearance from BPC at https://osr.bpc.bt/
