Coinciding with the auspicious Zakar, the Department of Geology and Mines (DGM), Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (MoENR) have signed Agreements on Allocation of Surface Collection or Dredging Activities with the Winning Bidders for 10 auctioned sites under Samtse, Tading and Phuntshopelri Gewogs, Samtse Dzongkhag on 30/07/2025.
The signing ceremony was graced by Hon’ble Director, DGM and the senior officials of the Department in Thimphu, and the 10 winning bidders. The signing of the agreements marks an important milestone for DGM in successful conduct of the auction for surface collection and dredging activities after taking over the mandates from DoFPS from 01/01/2024.
The sealed bid auction was carried out with an objective to promote transparency and fairness in the allocation of surface collection and dredging activities with potential for export.
The successful bidders will be issued a permit to commence the activities, and the permit shall be valid for a period of 3 to 5 years depending on the nature of the deposits and size of the auctioned sites.
