Ministry participates in the Eighth Session of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Assembly

New Delhi, 28 October 2025: A delegation from the Department of Energy (DoE), MoENR, participated in the Eighth Session of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Assembly held in New Delhi, India, on 28 October 2025.

The High-Level Session of the ISA Assembly was graced by Her Excellency Smt. Droupadi Murmu, President of the Republic of India. The Assembly brought together Ministers and senior officials from ISA Member and Signatory Countries to update the progress of ISA initiatives and explore collaborative opportunities to accelerate solar energy deployment globally.

Director General-DoE also participated in the thematic session on “Envisioning Regional and Global Interconnections for Large-Scale Clean Energy Transition.”

On the sidelines of the event, the Bhutanese delegation held a bilateral meeting with Mr. Ashish Khanna, Director General of the ISA, and his team on 26 October 2025. The discussions focused on the progress update of the priority action plans agreed upon during the high-level ISA mission to Bhutan in September 2025. The DG-DoE and DG-ISA also engaged in a fireside chat on translating shared ambitions into concrete actions following the signing of the Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) between the MoENR and ISA.

The Ministry extends its appreciation to the Government of India and the ISA for hosting the event and fostering dialogue among member nations to advance the global solar agenda.
