A technical team from Bhutan’s energy sector comprising the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Electricity Regulatory Authority, Druk Green Power Corporation Limited, Bhutan Power Corporation Limited and Bhutan Power System Operator, completed a five-day Power Market Capacity Building study visit from November 3-7,2025 in India. The visit was supported by the Government of India (GoI) and facilitated by Tata Power and other GoI agencies.
The team visited the Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited’s 10 MW/10 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), a live demonstration of grid flexibility and peak load management, as well as the impressive 300 MW Solar Power Plant in Bikaner, an exemplary model of large-scale renewable integration.
They also engaged in in-depth knowledge-sharing sessions with experts from Central Electricity Authority, POWERGRID India, Central Electricity Regulatory Commission, Tata Power Trading Corporation Limited and TPDDL, gaining valuable insights into India’s evolving power market structure and operational frameworks.
Together, we move closer toward a resilient, sustainable, and regionally integrated energy future.
