Training on Operation & Maintenance of Solar Plants at National Institute of Solar Energy, New Delhi, India

A technical team from Bhutan’s energy sector, including 14 officials from the Department of Energy (DoE), Druk Green Power Corporation (DGPC), Desuung Skilling Programme – Solar Initiative (DSP-SI), College of Science and Technology (CST), Jigme Namgyel Engineering College (JNEC), and the Jigme Wangchuck Power Training Institute (JWPTI), is currently undergoing a two-week Solar Operation & Maintenance (O&M) training program at the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), India, from November 17 to 28, 2025. The training, supported by the Government of India, focuses on strengthening technical skills in solar PV operation and maintenance through expert-led lectures, hands-on sessions, and site visits.
This program significantly strengthens Bhutan’s capacity to efficiently operate and maintain its solar energy infrastructure, ensuring improved system reliability and performance. The knowledge and experience gained will facilitate sustainable growth of Bhutan’s renewable energy sector and contribute to building a resilient and technologically advanced clean energy future.
