The Annual Performance Agreement (APA) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs for the Financial Year 2017-18 was signed between Hon’ble Prime Minister and Hon’ble Tengye Lyonpo on 11th August, 2017 in Thimphu. This year, the APAs between Tengye Lyonpo and Secretary, between Secretary and Heads of the Department, Directorate Services and Secretariat were also signed in the presence of Lyonchhen.
Major thrust areas of the Ministry’s APA for 2017-18 are economic expansion and diversification, enhancing enabling environment and public service delivery, industrial infrastructure, energy sector, mining sector, enhancing export, development of cottage and small industries and reducing geo-hazard risks among others.
In concluding the session, Hon’ble Prime Minister addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of the economic sector in achieving the overall development objectives of the nation. He expressed deep appreciation to all the officials of the Ministry for their concerted efforts made during the last four years that had resulted in a robust economy and reminded that many of the economic sectors were within the Ministry’s jurisdiction. He further urged the officials to continue to work hard going forward.
The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials from the Cabinet Secretariat, Commissioner, Royal Civil Service Commission and around 250 officials from the Ministry.
