The Department of Trade, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Royal Government of Bhutan in collaboration with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific (UNESCAP) is co-organizing three days regional workshop on ‘Using Evidence-Based Trade Policy for Achieving Sustainable Development Goals in LDCs and LLDCs’ from 3-5 September 2018 in Thimphu.
The workshop is expected to provide a regional platform for sharing regional best practices and identifying feasible policy options that could help address the challenges in using trade as an implementation tool for achieving SDGs. In addition, the workshop will also review the state of data availability among LDCs and LLDCs with respect to trade related targets and indicators.
The workshop is being attended by 14 public officials from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Nepal and Timor-Leste in addition to 19 officials from various RGoB agencies.
