A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Department of Cottage and Small Industry, Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Support Arts and Crafts International Centre of Thailand (SACICT) on 24th February 2019 in Thimphu.
The main objective of the MoU was to bring about effective collaboration between the two agencies for the development of the handicrafts sector by sharing of skills among master artisans and technical know-how by the Thai experts.
Through the MoU, it is expected to build awareness on arts and crafts sector as an important cultural capital in driving economy, in exchange of knowledge on conservation of local wisdom in craftsmanship as well as create value through innovation that symbolizes and serves as pride of the nation.
