On October 28, 2025, Mr. Vir Vikram Vadav, IAS, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Government of India, and Chairman of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), made a courtesy call on His Excellency, the Hon’ble Minister, Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, in Thimphu.
Mr. Yadav is here in Bhutan as the guest of honour for the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) supported National Clean Air Action Plan’s industry sector consultation scheduled for 29 October 2025.
During the meeting, Hon’ble Minister and Mr. Yadav discussed areas of cooperation in the field of environment, climate change and waste management, including Extended Producer Responsibility and Circular Economy. Both sides expressed interest in reviving the institutional linkages between MoEFCC, CPCB, DECC to further strengthen collaboration on shared environmental priorities.
Officials from ICIMOD and the Department of Environment and Climate Change were also present during the meeting.
