Bhutan is proud to announce its side event at COP30 in Belem, Brazil “Bhutan Carbon Market Readiness” showcasing the nation’s commitment to building a high-integrity carbon market aligned with the goals of the Paris Agreement.
Over the past few years, Bhutan has made remarkable progress in strengthening its carbon market infrastructure:
✅ Adoption of the Bhutan Carbon Market Rules (2023)
✅ Launch of the National Carbon Registry (2024)
✅ Establishment of the Bhutan Climate Fund (BCF)
✅ Signing of Bhutan’s first Article 6.2 bilateral agreement with Singapore
✅ Formulation of the Bhutan Carbon Market Framework 2025
The event will also elaborate on the possible project list and mitigation activities under different carbon crediting programs, highlighting opportunities for developers, investors, and partners interested in Bhutan’s carbon market ecosystem.
