Call for applications – Rural Enterprise Development Scheme (REDS)

The Department of Cottage and Small Industry (DCSI), Ministry of Economic Affairs invites applications/business proposals from interested potential entrepreneurs in the rural areas wishing to establish cottage or small manufacturing industry in rural areas to apply for the Rural Enterprise Development Scheme.

REDS is a government of India (GOI) funded grant provided for purchase of machinery that is key to that manufacturing industry. The maximum limit of grant is Nu. 200,000/- per beneficiary for both new or existing enterprises and cost sharing ratio is as follows:
>Start-up enterprise:90:10 (REDS: Beneficiary)
>Existing Enterprise (for expansion or diversification): 80:20 (REDS: Beneficiary)

The Department notifies that this is a competitive scheme and is based on the quality of the project (e.g innovative ideas, scope for up-scaling, import substitution potential, employment generation potential etc).

The project proposal/applications should reach the DCSI latest by September 25, 2017. The application format for the preparation of project proposals can be obtained either from the Dzongkags/RTIOs or DCSI. Alternatively, it can also be downloaded from Ministry’s website www.moea.gov.bt. For queries please contact Phone#325028/325627 during working hours.
