Subsequent to the WIPO’s earlier mission phase from March 20 to 24, 2017 to undertake Resource and Management Diagnostic Project for Modernization of the Department of Intellectual Property (DoIP), a follow-up mission was fielded by the WIPO from August 16 to 18, 2017. The mission team was led by Mr. Someshwar Dayal Singh, Senior Counsellor from the WIPO accompanied by Ms. Liew Woon, consultant.
During the earlier phase, the mission team drafted a report based on their bilateral consultations with the DoIP and key stakeholders from public and private sector, which provided comprehensive recommendations to be implemented. The purpose of the mission was to review and discuss on the draft report with the DoIP to seek further comments and views for finalizing the report.
On the sideline, the mission team met with the officials from the Department of Trade, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Department of Agriculture Marketing and Co-operatives, Ministry of Agriculture and Forests and the Agency for Indigenous Craft to have preliminary discussions on identifying few potential traditional and agricultural products to pilot a product branding project for Bhutan.
