The Department of Cottage and Small Industry under the ministry of Economic Affairs conducted one day Business Advocacy Workshop (BAW) at Gomtu and Dorokha under Samtse Dzongkhag on 3rd and 6th November, 2017 respectively.
The objective of the workshop was to create awareness among exiting and potential entrepreneurs, and local authorities on business licensing process and procedures, rules and regulations, policies, incentives, and support services relating to operating cottage and small businesses in the country.
During the workshop, participants were asked about the business opportunities they see in their locality and the support they require from the government to leverage on the opportunity.
A total of 34 and 28 potential entrepreneurs – comprising mostly unemployed youths, attended the workshop in Gomtu and Dorokha respectively.
