In pursuance with the Economic Development Policy 2016, the Department of Trade, Ministry of Economic Affairs has identified Nganglam, as one of the potential hubs for the development of dry port to serve 6 eastern Dzongkhags.
The Department of Trade initiated the process of conducting feasibility study for the development of dry port in Nganglam. The process of allocation of land being a stepping stone for conducting the feasibility study, the Department organized a meeting with Dasho Dzongdag and Dzongkhag officials of Pemagatshel on July 19, 2019. As the outcome of the meeting, the Dzongkhag administration has allocated 10 acres of land to the Ministry for the development of the dry port.
The meeting was attended by Officiating Secretary Mr. Phuntsho Tobgay, Ministry of Economic Affairs, officials from the Department of Trade, Dasho Dzongdag and officials from the Dzongkhag.
