Workshop on Finalization of the Application Documents of Made in Bhutan under Brand Bhutan

To finalize the application documents (questionnaire, criteria and guideline) for  Made in Bhutan – Sector Brand  under Brand Bhutan, two simultaneous  workshops were conducted on July 18 and July 19, 2019 by the Department of Trade (DoT) in collaboration with International Trade Centre (ITC) and the Agency for the Promotion of Indigenous Crafts (APIC) under the EU-Bhutan trade support project.

The workshop on July 18, 2019 was attended by the stakeholders from the DoT, APIC,  Bhutan Standards Bureau (BSB), Department of Intellectual Property (DoIP), and the Royal Textile Academy (RTA) where the questionnaire, criteria and the guideline for Made in Bhutan were discussed and validated.

Similarly, the workshop on July 19, 2019 was attended by 16 participants from the handicrafts sectors along with the participants from the DoT and APIC where the participants discussed and validated the application documents of Made in Bhutan. They were also guided on the application process of Made in Bhutan on their products; the proper usage of the Made in Bhutan mark/logo on the individual company’s promotion and advertising materials.

The workshops were conducted as a part of the numerous activities carried out by DoT to operationalize the Brand Bhutan initiative to improve the competitiveness of Bhutanese exports and penetrate into premium market.

The workshops were facilitated by an international consultant recruited by the ITC.
