The Department is implementing the Mini Dry Port (MDP) Project under the SASEC Road Connectivity Project with financial assistance from the ADB.
The MDP is an inland intermodal terminal first of its kind in Bhutan that will operate as a centre for transshipment of cargo to other destinations in the country and it is one of the major trade facilitation infrastructure planned with an objective to boost overall trade.
Phuntsholing Thromde (municipal office) as an Executing Agency under the project have awarded the work on the design and build of the Mini Dry Port to M/s Marushin Shitaka Construction Company Ltd (MSCCL). The construction of the facility will be completed by end of December 2018. Upon completion of the construction of MDP by Phuntsholing Thromde, the Department plans to operationalize the MDP immediately. A third party is expected to operate the MDP on competitive bidding process for effectiveness and efficient service delivery.
As such, the Department of Trade, MoEA is seeking for a qualified consultant or consultancy firm (national/regional) to prepare/develop Operation and Management Contract for MDP recommending a viable business model.
In this regard, we are pleased to invite interested consultants/consulting firms to submit their Expression of Interest (EOI) for the purpose of shortlisting to carry out the task. The EOI should be submitted to the Director, Department of Trade, MoEA, P.O. BOX 141, THIMPHU, BHUTAN on or before 4PM on 26 January 2017 in hard copy or in electronic format at ctshewang@moea.gov.bt.
